Windows 7 automatically defragments your primary hard disk drive every week. But what if you have more than one hard disk drive ? Do not worry, you can schedule all your hard disk drives to be defragged with Windows 7. Windows 7 disk defragmenter can defrag all the hard disk drives at the same time. This is how you can schedule defragmentation of all the hard disk drives :
- Open Start Menu and type defrag. When you see Disk Defragmenter in the search results, click on it to run it. You can also run the Disk Defragmenter by pressing the key combination Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog, typing dfrgui.exe and pressing Enter.
- In the Disk Defragmenter window click on the button labeled Configure schedule… as shown
- In the Modify Schedule dialog, set the time and frequency to run the defragmentation. Then click on the Select disks… button as shown
- In the next dialog, select the checkbox (Select all disks) and click the OK button as shown
That’s it. Now all of your hard disks will be defragmented at the scheduled time.
