Turn off Internet Explorer Accelerators

Internet Explorer 8.0 and above has a feature called Accelerators. When you select a text on a web page, a blue arrow is shown clicking on which various options are shown like Blog with Windows Live, E-Mail with Windows Live, Map with Live Search, Translate with Live Search, Search with Live Search, Search with Bing and etc.

These accelerators may be helpful for you if you use these blogging services etc often. But if you do not like these accelerator, you can turn off the accelerators easily. Here is how :

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Select from the right-side menu Tools → Internet Options to open the Internet Options dialog.
  3. Scroll down and uncheck the checkbox labeled Display accelerator button on selection as shown.
  4. Click OK to save the settings.

Now whenever you make a selection on a web page in the Internet Explorer, the accelerator button will not be shown.
