Share your libraries in Windows 7

If you are connected over a network and are using your Windows 7 computer, you can share your libraries with other users on that network. Windows 7 allows you to share your libraries with either read only access or read/write access. Here is how :

  1. Open Windows Explorer.
  2. Select a library you want to share with other users on the network. In the following picture, we have selected the Pictures library.

  3. In the toolbar, click Share With and select Homegroup (Read) or Homegroup (Read/Write). If you select Homegroup (Read) then other users on the network would be given read only access. If you select Homegroup (Read/Write) then other users on the network would be given both read and write access to your files in the selected library.

If you want to un-share the library later, then follow the same steps and select Nobody from the menu.
