Add Run command to Desktop in Windows Vista

Windows Vista, like other versions of Windows, has a great feature called the Run command which is used to run any program or a command easily. Usually, this Run command dialog is accessed using the keyboard shortcut Windows logo key + R or from its Start Menu shortcut, but you can add a shortcut to the Desktop itself too. Here is how :

The Run command shortcut will appear on the Desktop as shown.

To add the Run command to your Windows Desktop, follow these instructions :

  1. First of all you have to add the Run command to the Start Menu.
  2. Click on the Start Menu button to open the Start Menu.
  3. Drag the Run command shortcut from the Start Menu to the Desktop as shown,

  4. That’s it. Now you have the Run dialog shortcut right on your Desktop.
