Restore previously open folders in Windows Vista

Suppose you are working on some folders and you have to shutdown Windows. Next time you would start Windows (or logon to Windows), the open folders windows (which were open at the time of shutdown or logging off) do not appear. If you want Windows to restore the previously open folder windows at the startup or logon, then follow these easy steps :

  1. Open Windows Explorer.
  2. From the toolbar, select Organize → Folder and search options to open the Folder Options window.

  3. In the Folder Options window, select the View tab.
  4. Scroll down the options list and check the checkbox Restore previous folder windows at logon as shown,

  5. Click OK button to save the settings.
