Install a new font in Windows Vista

Windows Vista comes with few standard fonts pre-installed. But if you think those are not enough then you can download thousands of free fonts from the internet sites like fontspace.com and fontstock.net. Once you have the new font, you have to install it in Windows so you can use it. This is how :

  1. Right-click on the font file (.TTF file) and choose Install as shown :

  2. If you have already installed the font previously, then it would ask you if you want to replace the font. Choose an appropriate action. If you choose Yes the older font file will be replaced with the new one. If you choose any other action, then nothing would happen.

  3. You would see a progress window saying that it is installing the font. When the progress is over your font is installed and ready to use.

  4. After your font is installed, you can use it in any program you want.
