Disable power management settings in Windows Vista

Windows Vista power settings manage when your system is going to sleep mode. In some systems it is necessary to disable Windows default power management settings in order for a drive or program to function properly. If you want to disable the Windows Vista power management settings, then here is how :

  1. Open Control Panel → System and Maintenance → Power Options.
  2. Click on the Change plan settings under your currently selected power plan.

  3. Change the setting for Put the computer to sleep to Never as shown.

  4. Click the Save Changes button to save the settings.
