Enable Hardware Acceleration in Google Chrome

More and more browsers are supporting hardware acceleration for faster rendering of media rich web sites. Hardware acceleration makes use of the GPU in the computer to render the media embedded in a web page for faster and better results. In the Google Chrome hardware acceleration is disabled by default. Here is how you can enable hardware acceleration in Google Chrome web browser :

  1. Run Google Chrome web browser.
  2. In the omnibox (location bar) type chrome://flags/ and press Enter.

  3. Scroll down and click on the Enable links under GPU Accelerated Composing and GPU Accelerated Canvas 2D as shown :

  4. That’s it. You have enabled GPU hardware acceleration for the Chrome browser. Now you should be able to experience the media rich web sites faster.
