Earlier this month I found a funny video on Youtube where someone had put their face on a dancing body and the body was dancing to the beat of the ugly dance song. I wanted to put my face on the dancing body too. So after some research I found the website where it can be done. The Ugly Dance website is designed by the artist Fulkultur to promote their song. Anyone can upload their picture on the internet and put their face on the a body dancing to the Ugly Dance song. Here is how :
- Visit the Ugly Dance website. There would be a dummy dancer dancing to the beats of the Ugly Dance song. Click on the Create Your Own Ugly Dancer link at the top-left corner.
- It would ask you to upload your picture to the website. The picture should have close-up of your face pointed to the front (just look into the camera when taking the picture). It would be better if you use a picture with a smiling face. A high-resolution picture would give better results. Click on the Browse link to select your picture and move on to the next step.
- In the next step, you have to select your face from the picture. There is a hole and you have to rotate, zoom-in or zoom-out to your picture align your face to that hole. You can drag the top-right corner of your picture to zoom-in, zoom-out and rotate your picture. On the top, a preview of how it is going to look on the dancing body would be shown. Click on the Okay link when you are done.
- In the next step, you have to choose an outfit for your dancer. You can choose from leopard dress, slacker, gym rat, the suit or the chimp outfit. All of them are funny looking and you are shown a preview as you select them. When you are satisfied, click Okay.
- Now is the final step. Here you have to type in your first name. This name appears as the title of your browser’s window when someone watches your dancing video. For example, I typed in Trisha as my first name and it showed Trisha is doing the ugly dance in the title of the browser window. After typing in your first name, click on the Save link.
- Now the video with your face over the dancing body wearing an outfit of your choice would appear in the browser. You can enjoy this video yourself and share it with your friends by sending them the URL address of the currently open page in the browser. You can actually control the dance moves by clicking on the various types of dance moves for front legs (your hands) and hind legs. There are many dance moves to be selected from like tramp, kick, disco, go-go-go, hippi, robot, grease, windmill and many more.
