How to Clear Download History in Google Chrome

If you have ever downloaded something in Google Chrome web browser, then you know that it shows a download bar near the bottom edge of the browser window. All the files that you have ever downloaded are shown in this download bar. These downloads are not automatically cleared by the Google Chrome browser. Unlike Mozilla Firefox, there is no easily visible method to clear the downloaded files list either. But you can clear the downloaded files history from the downloads page. Here is how :

In the Google Chrome browser, click on the menu icon (shown on the top-right corner) and select Downloads from the popup menu. You can also use the hotkey Ctrl + J. Alternatively, You can type chrome://downloads in the omnibar (address bar) of the Chrome browser and press Enter.

This would show the Downloads page in the Google Chrome browser showing the full list of all the downloaded files. If you want to clear the list of the downloaded files, then you can click on the Clear All link on the top-right corner. However if you want to just clear one particular download, then you can click on the Remove from list link next to that download.

So this is how you can remove the downloaded files history from the Google Chrome browser. You can remove some or all your downloads from the download list maintained by Google Chrome. By clearing the downloaded file history, you do not remove the actual files on the hard disk.
