Fix Windows Update 10 Problems with Windows Update Troubleshooter

When you try to update your Windows 10 PC, it sometimes shows up an error message and declares that your Windows PC cannot be updated. The reason that is displayed for these errors is often very difficult to understand for the layman and the error numbers like 0x80073712 do not really make any sense. In order to fix your Windows PC and overcome any update related problems Microsoft has prepared a new tool called Windows Update Troubleshooter. According to Microsoft, it is going to help Windows 10 users fix errors with codes 0x80073712, 0x800705B4, 0x80004005, 0x8024402F, 0x80070002, 0x80070643, 0x80070003, 0x8024200B, 0x80070422 and 0x80070020.

Such a tool was already available for older versions of Windows but the newly released version is meant only for Windows 10 and aims to fix the Windows 10 specific problems. It is supposed to fix all of the update related errors in your Windows 10 automatically. It checks the relevant files, registry settings, services and the update database.

This new solution takes care of all the required components that could prevent the updates in Windows 10 such as the Windows Update, Background Intelligent Transfer Service, and the Windows Network. When you launch the Windows Update Troubleshooter tool, it actually displays all of these components in the list and all you have to do is click on the Next button to proceed with the troubleshooting process.

Afterwards you are shown a detailed report which contains all the fixes and steps that have been performed in your PC. If this does not fix the error in your Windows PC, then it will also show you further instructions. Sometimes, running the Windows Update Troubleshooter with administrative privileges, will enable it to fix the problems that were otherwise impossible to be fixed.

On my test Windows 10 Home PC, it repaired a corrupt Windows Update database, repaired Windows Update components, restored some of the services, restored security settings and so on. Manually fixing all these settings would have taken more than 30 minutes but with this new tool it was all done in under 5 minutes.

Conclusion: Windows Update Troubleshooter for Windows 10 can fix all the problems that could prevent Windows from receiving updates from Microsoft servers.
