How to Find Screenshot Images Captured Through Opera Neon

Opera Neon is the new fun project from Opera Software. It is a browser with a new concept, but unfortunately no future as announced by Opera through their Twitter account, in the other words, they are not really interested in developing it further. But nevertheless, if you have already started to use this fast web browser and have captured screenshots using its Gallery feature as we explained in an earlier article – how to snap images to gallery in Opera Neon. But the images snapped through this feature cannot be accessed directly from within Opera Neon – they for the sole purpose of comparing snapped web pages and their parts for one or other reasons.

However, if you really want to access the PNG image that was saved through these snapshots, then you can follow these steps:

  1. Press the hotkey Win+R to open the Run dialog.Opera Neon Gallery Images
  2. Enter the following in the Run dialog and press Enter: %LocalAppData%\Opera Software\Opera Neon\User Data\Default\Gallery Storage.
  3. This will open a folder in the File Explorer where you should see various sub-folders with numbered names like 2, 3, 4 and so on.Opera Neon Gallery Images
  4. Open these folders and you will find the PNG images inside them – these are your screenshots that you snapped using the Opera Neon browser.

In case, you have deleted these snaps from the Opera Neon gallery and you do not see any sub-folders inside the Gallery Storage folder then you perhaps won’t be able to access the PNG images. But even in that case, you can try a data recovery software like Recuva that can be used to recover the deleted files unless the PNG files are overwritten and not fully recoverable. It is also not known that Opera Neon just erases these files or securely erases them – in the latter case, the deleted files won’t be accessible at all.
