Hover Zoom : Automatically Zoom a Picture in Google Chrome
Often we come across thumbnail picture galleries on websites like facebook or picasa, and we have to click on the thumbnails to open the actual full sized image. It is a painful task to click through each of such small thumbnails in order to have a look at the full image. But if you are a Google Chrome web browser user, then you can use the Hover Zoom extension to automatically zoom in on a thumbnail picture as soon as you hover your mouse cursor over it.
Hover Zoom is a Google Chrome extension which you can use to easily view all the images in their full enlarged form without having to click on any thumbnail or link. Now you can browse images galleries with ease. Just move your mouse cursor over thumbnails to view images in their full size without loading a new page. If pictures are very big and cannot fit the browser window, then these pictures are automatically resized.
You can download and install this extension from the Google Chrome webstore. After the installation, you can start using it immediately. If you open a facebook picture gallery, then you can just hover over a thumbnail and view the full picture. It also works on various other sites like Amazon, eBay, Flickr, Myspace, Pinterest, Twitter, Tumblr, Wikipedia, Yahoo and many more.
Like any other Chrome extension, Hover Zoom shows an icon in the omnibar (location bar) on the right side. This icon is not visible if the URL address is very long and reaches the right corner of the omnibar. You can right-click on this icon to open Hover Zoom options. In the options, you can choose various settings like disabling or enabling the Hover Zoom, showing icon in location bar, show picture captions etc. You can also blacklist a number of websites to disable the Hover Zoom on them. You can choose some shortcut keys for Hover Zoom to quickly let you open the image in new window, save the image etc.
By default, the shorcut key for saving an image is 'S'. To save an image, hover your mouse pointer over a thumbnail, when the full zoomed in picture is shown, press the 'S' key on your keyboard and the full picture is saved to your download folder. The same method works for other shortcut keys.
If you visit image rich websites and are tired of clicking through thumbnails to view the actual full pictures, then you are going to love the Hover Zoom extension. You can download and install this extension from https://chrome.google.com/.
