Use dictionary in Google Chrome

Google Chrome has hundreds of extensions you can install and make use of. Google Dictionary is such an extension which you can install in the Google Chrome browser. After installing this extension, you can lookup the definitions of words as you browse a web site. This is very helpful for students and language learners. The dictionary comes in many languages like English, Russian, Chinese, Czech, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Korean, Spanish etc. To install the extension follow this process :

  1. Start Google Chrome and visit page for Google Dictionary extension.
  2. Click on the blue Install button as shown.
  3. Follow the onscreen prompts to finish the installation. After installation is done, you would see a red dictionary icon on the right side in the address bar of the Chrome browser.
  4. Restart your Chrome browser for the settings to take effect.
  5. To use the dictionary extension, visit any web page and double-click on any word you want to look up in the dictionary. A pale yellow popup will show up with that word's definition and possible web link to further information as shown below

If you want to change the dictionary extension settings, then click on the red dictionary icon on the right side of the address bar and then click on the Extension options as shown

In the settings, you can select the dictionary language along with the way pop-up definitions are displayed.
