Power button is the button in your Windows 7 Start Menu, clicking on which makes your computer shut down by default. But this is the default action of the power button. You can make this power button restart, sleep or log off if you want. This article shows you how to do this.

1. Right click on Start Menu and select Properties
2. In the TaskBar and Start Menu Properties window, select the Start Menu tab by clicking on it, if not already selected.
3. You would see a drop down list control labeled Power button action. Choose an action you want the power button to perform when you click on it.
   
4. Click OK to save the settings.
