Find and change registered owner information in Windows 7
If you have received a second hand computer, you may want to change the registered owner name and registered organization name. It is also possible that somebody else installed Windows 7 for you and has set his name and organization. You may want to change it. This artcle tells you different ways to see and edit this information.
Find the Registered Owner / Organization :- Open Start Menu. Type winver in the search box and press Enter as shown :

- You would see a dialog box pop up in which you can see the current registered owner and registered organization as shwon :

Change the Registered Owner / Organization :
- Open Start Menu. Type regedit in the search box and press Enter. This would start Registry Editor. You may be prompted for the permission by UAC (User Access Control) dialog.
- In the Registry Editor navigate to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion - You would find two values of type REG_SZ in the right pane - named RegisteredOwner and RegisteredOrganization. The former value holds data for Registered Owner and the latter value hold data for the Registered Organization. You can change the values by double clicking on the value, typing/editing the new value and pressing Enter.

After modifying, you can verify that the value has changed using the method explained in the beginning of this article.
