Disable Digital Locker in Windows Vista

Digital Locker is a dedicated download manager associated with Windows Marketplace and a feature of Windows that can be used to manage and download products acquired and stored in the user’s Windows Marketplace Digital Locker. If you do not use Windows Marketplace to purchase Windows compatible software then you can disable Digital Locker. This is how :

You must have administrator level access to perform the following steps.

  1. Press the key combination Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog.
  2. Type gpedit.msc in the Run dialog and press Enter.
  3. In the Group Policy Editor, select in the left side tree view : User Configuration → Administrative Templates → Windows Components → Digital Locker.
  4. In the right side, find a value Do not allow Digital Locker to run as shown.

  5. Double click on it and select Enabled.

  6. Click OK to save the settings.
