Disable System Restore in Windows Vista
Windows Vista has a System Restore feature which can be used to restore your computer back to a specified point of time. But this can waste a lot of your useful hard disk space. Every time you install something, it creates a restore point. If your hard disk is small sized, you may want to turn off the System Restore. Here is how you can turn off System Restore :
- Press the key combination Windows logo key + R to open the Run dialog.
- Type SystemPropertiesProtection.exe in the Run dialog and press Enter. This would open the System Properties window.
- Un-check all the drives in the list. You may be presented with a confirmation dialog. Click on Turn System Restore off button as shown.
- Click OK to close the System Properties window.
