Sometimes you have to rename multiple files in such a away that they all follow same pattern in the file name. For example, files named like TRISH.JPG, TRISH(1).JPG, TRISH(2).JPG and so on. To do you have to follow the given procedure.

  1. First of all select all the files you want to rename. If you have to select all the files in a folder you can do so by pressing Ctrl + A.
  2. Next press F2 to start multiple renaming. This would make the filename of the first selected file editable. Type in the name of file. Do not change the file extension of the files. If you type the name as maria.jpg, the selected files would be renamed as maria.jpg, maria(1).jpg, maria(2).jpg and so on.
