How to Disable Login Verification in Twitter

The two step login verification system in Twitter is a security enhancement feature using which you can reduce the chances of your Twitter account getting hacked. If you have enabled the login verification in Twitter settings, then it would ask you a security code sent to your mobile phone in addition to your username and password for you to login to Twitter. But what if your mobile phone stops working, your SIM card gets damaged or even worse – your mobile phone gets stolen? In all these cases, you will not be able to login to your Twitter account – not in near future atleast. So if you want to disable the login verification for your Twitter account, then you can follow these simple steps:

  1. Logon to your Twitter account in your web browser.
  2. Go to the Twitter’s settings section by clicking on the gear like icon and selecting Settings. Alternatively, you can directly visit the https://twitter.com/settings/account page in your web browser to open your Twitter account settings.

  3. Scroll down on the settings page and you would find a setting for Account security as shown in the picture below. Un-check the checkbox labeled Require a verification code when I sign in.

  4. Click on the Save settings button at the bottom to save the changes. After this you will no longer be asked for two step login verification – you can sign in to your Twitter account using just your username and password.

One other method to disable the two step login verification is to just remove your mobile phone number from the Twitter account. Because the login verification requires you to add a phone number to Twitter account, it would get automatically disabled if your remove your mobile phone from Twitter.

  1. The number I have on my twitter account is no longer active as i transfered a number an other network which means my network no longer have the number

  2. I got this fixed by blocking the mail address verify@twitter.com on my mail server for that mail account. I sign in like 15 times a day because I don’t store cookies in my browser. So when I open the browser, it is a new session and I have to login again.

  4. Hi. What if I’vebeen locked out from twitter and it needs mobile confirmation, but then my sim card expired. What should i do?

        1. You should have the mobile number and identity papers of some sort. Take them to police station file a report and then contact the mobile service provider to get a duplicate SIM card.
