Download Windows 10 ISO from Microsoft Techbench

Microsoft is making all the efforts to let Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users upgrade to the latest Windows 10 operating system. The upgrade to Windows 10 through the automatic updates installs Windows 10 but does not really give you an option to make any installation media. Although there is an option to convert downloaded Windows 10 upgrade files into an ISO image, but this takes too much time and may not work for everyone. Good news is that now you can download the Windows 10 ISO file directly from the Microsoft servers through the Microsoft Techbench website. You can download Windows 10 Home or Professional editions ISO files through this method. Here is how:

  1. Open your web browser and navigate to https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/software-download/techbench.
  2. Scroll down the web page and choose one of the editions that you want to download – you can download the regular edition, N edition (for European Union region), KN edition (for South Korea) and the regular edition with only one language. The N and KN editions lack Windows Media Player, Skype and some other Microsoft software. After selection, click on the Confirm button.Download Windows 10 ISO
  3. Once this is done, you are asked to choose one of the languages for the Windows UI. There are many languages to choose from. After selection, click on the Confirm button.Download Windows 10 ISO
  4. It will generate download links specially for your computer for both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows 10. If you have a real fast internet connection then you can just click on these links and download the ISO files via the browser itself. If you have a slower connection, then perhaps you may want to use a download manager.Download Windows 10 ISO
  5. The downloaded ISO file can be burned to a blank DVD using a software like ImgBurn. You can also create a bootable USB disk for installing Windows 10 using a tool like Rufus. The same installation media can be used to install both the Home and the Professional editions of Windows 10.Download Windows 10 ISO

Downloading Windows 10 ISO from the official Microsoft servers ensures that you get a reliable Windows 10 installation media that you can use to perform a clean install (as opposed to an upgrade) of Windows 10 on your systems.

    1. Same result – no longer found. Trying to verify the ISO downloaded with the media creation tool from MS and thought this might be another option. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

  1. Great tip!

So far I’ve been slipstreaming on Windows 7 and 8/8.1 Media…

As long as Microsoft keeps developing and these links working, Microsoft Techbench will be my source for Updated Windows 10 Installation Media!
