Pinning a program to the taskbar in Windows 7

By default, Windows 7 has only three programs pre-pinned to the standard taskbar : Internet Explorer 8, Windows Media Player 12 and Windows Explorer. But using a new feature in Windows 7 called Pin Up, you can pin any program to the taskbar. By pinning the program to the taskbar, you add its shortcut to the taskbar. To pin a program on the task bar :

Method 1

Right-click on the shortcut of a program which you want to pin to the taskbar. For example, if you want to Mozilla Firefox shortcut to the taskbar, you can right-click on Firefox shortcut on your desktop or in the Start Menu and select Pin to Taskbar as shown in the following picture :

Method 2

Right-click on the program file (EXE file) of a program which you want to pin to the taskbar. For example, if you want to Mozilla Firefox shortcut to the taskbar, you can right-click on firefox.exe inside the folder C:Program FilesMozilla Firefox and select Pin to Taskbar as shown in the following picture :

Method 3

If you want to pin a program which is currently running and is visible in the taskbar, you can right-click on the program icon being shown in the taskbar and select Pin this program to the taskbar. For example, if you want to Mozilla Firefox shortcut to the taskbar, you can right-click on the Mozilla Firefox icon being shown in the taskbar and select Pin this program to the taskbar as shown in the following picture :
