Run programs with lower privileges in Windows XP

If you run Windows XP with an administrator account, then it may be risky. If a malware attacks your computer while you are logged in as an administrator, the malware has full access to the system resources. But you can run programs with lower privileges using suDown. Here is how :

  1. Download suDown from http://sudown.sourceforge.net/.
  2. After installation, you will have to restart the computer. Upon restart you will be ready to use the suDown.
  3. If you want to run a program with lower privileges, then right click on it (or its shortcut) and choose suDown from the right click menu

  4. This would run the selected program with lower privileges even when you are actually logged in as an administrator.
