Copy is a cloud storage service for all your requirements. It offers integrated file synchronization, backup and sharing. When you sign up with Copy, they offer you 15 GB of cloud storage space for free. You can use the Copy cloud service through your favorite web browser, but it also offers platform specific clients. The Copy clients are available for all the popular operating systems (Windows, Linux, Mac) and mobile devices (Android, iPhone, iPad).
You can download the Copy client for Windows or other platforms from its website. The client for Windows is around 30 megabytes in size. After the installation, you are shown a window where you can enter your Copy username and password to login to your Copy account. If you do not have any Copy account, then you can create a free account through the Copy desktop client itself.
After logging in to the Copy client, you are informed about a Copy folder which is created in your user profile folder. By default the folder is %UserProfile%Copy but it also gives you an option to change the folder destination. Anything you put inside this folder would be synced to your Copy account. And your copy account is synced back to all the devices on which you have installed the Copy client. So you can access whatever you put inside this Copy folder from anywhere using your mobile phone, tablet or a web browser.
Copy desktop client also installs a notification area icon in Windows. The notification area icon is a big white barracuda icon when the file are being synced. The icon is superimposed with a tiny red cross when you pause the syncing. You can right-click on this notification area icon to open the right-click context menu using which you can open the Copy folder, visit the Copy web site in your web browser, view recently changed files, pause syncing and open Copy preferences. It also has options for selecting file sharing.
In the Copy Preferences, you can choose a different location for the Copy folder, manage your Copy files, toggle automatic start of Copy client with Windows, enable or disable showing of desktop notifications, etc. Under the Share section, you can share a folder with other users of Copy. Under the Network section, you can choose the upload and download bandwidth limits and also configure a proxy if you want to.
You do not need the Copy desktop client to work with the cloud storage. You can just visit the Copy website, log in to your Copy account and start working on your files. The Copy web interface allows you to upload new files, create new folders, share the uploaded items, download the files and view the file activity etc. Under the file activity, you can see everything about the file – who uploaded the file, when was it uploaded and the sharing history of the file.
Copy is very simple, easy to use and versatile cloud storage, file synchronization and file sharing service. It integrates file syncing and sharing into the operating system making it very easy to share files with others. It supports clients for all the popular platforms. It offers free 15 GB storage which is more than enough for personal requirements.
