Many of the websites offer you to download forms, brochures and booklets in the PDF formats. But the problem is that most of us cannot edit PDF files as the PDF editor programs are very expensive. What we can do is convert the PDF files into editable Doc or Docx files and then edit them using Microsoft Word or Libre Office. The freeware program PDFMate PDF Converter allows you to convert PDF files into many formats including Doc, Docx, HTML, text, SWF, Epub and more.
You can download PDFMate PDF Converter from Anvsoft website. The download is available as a setup installer of around 26 megabytes in size. After you have installed this software on your PC, you can run it from its desktop shortcut. The main window of PDFMate PDF Converter shows very simple to use interface. Basically, you have to select PDF file(s) or a folder containing PDF files and then choose a target file format to get going.
You can click on the Add PDF graphic to select one or more PDF files from your hard disk. Then you can select the target file formats from the toolbar near the bottom edge of the window (unfortunately, the Doc (Word 2003) format is available only in the paid version). You also have to select the output folder where the target files would be created. Then click on the big Convert button and it will create the files with your desired formats without any problems.
The program also has some other less commonly used features like password protection, document access restriction, merger options (to bundle many PDF files into a single PDF file), batch conversion etc.
PDFMate PDF Converter Free is a simple application that can convert your PDF files into some simpler formats which you can edit easily. But the free version of this program does not support the conversion to Microsoft Word 2003 (.doc) format, which is very disappointing. It supports conversion of the PDF files to the Microsoft Word 2007 (.docx) format, but only first 3 pages.
