Quickly Disable Javascript, Images, Background in Firefox

My niece had to print some of the webpages and the printouts consumed a lot of printer ink as the webpages had color backgrounds and used lots of unnecessary images. She just wanted the text content and yet was forced to print all those colors and images. This not only made the printing slower, but it also resulted in waste of costly printer ink. Thanks to the free LiteRider7 add-on for Firefox, now you can quickly disable javascript, images and the backgrounds on a webpage. This is great for the people who want to take the printout of heavy loaded webpages or just want to load the websites quickly without loading any of the unnecessary images.

You can install the LiteRider7 add-on from the Mozilla add-ons website. The installation of this add-on requires you to restart the web browser and it can be used immediately after the restart. After the restart, you would see a new menubar appended next to the Firefox menubar. If you have not made the menubar visible, then you have to make it visible by selecting Firefox → Options → Menubar.

Quickly Disable Javascript, Images, Background in Firefox

In order to disable the javascript, images and background colors on a webpage, just click on the RideonLite button in this new menubar. Clicking on this button again would enable these options again for that webpage. There are also orange colored numbered buttons for quick bookmarks. To assign a webpage with one of these number buttons, you have to open that webpage and hold the Ctrl key while clicking on one of these buttons. To open a bookmarked page, now you can click on these orange buttons.

So if you are sick and tired of waiting for a website to load while it is busy downloading tons of images that you are not even faintly interested in, then you can use the LiteRider7 add-on. This add-on would make browsing the websites very quick and efficient. At the same time, it is very useful when you are preparing to take the printouts of webpages which are rich in unwanted pictures.

You can download and install the LiteRider7 add-on from https://addons.mozilla.org/.
