Disable Windows User Feedback App in Windows 10

Microsoft was very generous this year as it allowed free upgrade to the Windows 10 for all the Windows 7 SP1 or Windows 8.1 users. But after you have upgraded your Windows 7 SP1 or Windows 8.1 computer to the new Windows 10, Microsoft does not let you go that easy. It runs a task user feedback task on your computer called SIUF (System Initiated User Feedback). It basically asks you about what you think of the new version of Windows after you have used it for a couple of weeks. Although it is completely harmless, but if you do not want this feedback task run in your PC, then you can easily disable it.

The Windows feedback app in Windows 10 helps Microsoft understand what you think of the various features in the operating system and what you might want to see in the future. All of this feedback goes straight to the Microsoft engineers who may use it in any way they want. So overall, disabling the Windows feedback task may not be a very good idea for the future developments of the Windows. But for those who do really want to disable it, the instructions above should do the trick.

  1. If this really stops feedback, may God bless you. I suspect microsoft/nsa/hell will have a backdoor handy at all times to defeat those who think they have disabled feedback.
