Of all the games that I have played over the years, “The Witcher” is the only game that I still keep installed for playing off and on in my PC. The original first version of “The Witcher” was released in 2007 and was a huge success. Even though it was released all those years ago, it still demands a decent gaming rig to play it comfortably. Now that “Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings” and “Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt” have been released, some of the people may want to play the first one in the series to have an idea how it all began in the Witcher series.
Thanks to a collaboration of ArsTechnica and GOG, now you can grab a free copy of “The Witcher” game and start playing it on your PC right away. In order to get this free game, you have to login to your existing ArsTechnica account by visiting their website and then you can click on Claim a Code button in the green box. This will give you the code that you will have to later add to your GOG account.
This will make “The Witcher” permanently free for you in your GOG account. Once this is done, you can download and install this game in your device at any later time. The game that you get is not the same as the one released in 2007. It is actually an enhanced edition with special features. Even if you have played “The Witcher” before, you may want to get a copy and play it all over again to experience what new they have added in this enhanced edition.
You should hurry up if you want to claim this game for yourself. On their website, ArsTechnica mentions that they will giveaway an infinite number of codes but only for the next 48 hours. They also mention that they will be giving away many more games for free in the future.
