Ever since SEGA released Sonic the Hedgehog in 1991, it has always been very popular with the gamers. Many generations of gamers have grown up playing Sonic games of one or other kind. And now Epic Games store is also giving away “Sonic Mania” this week. This game was first released in 2017 and combines old missions with completely new content from the modern era.
Epic Games store itself describes the game with the words – ” The ultimate celebration of past and future”. The new Sonic adventure game packs many unique bosses, rolling 2D landscapes, mixed with the classic gameplay. Sonic Mania can be taken as the graphics upgrade to the old “Sonic the Hedgehog” from 1991. It retains the same old fast-paced platforming but with new 2D graphics giving a frame rate of 60 FPS.
In addition to some improvement in the quality of graphics, Sonic Mania looks almost like the original versions of Sega’s nice fast hedgehog. The noticeable changes are new stages (with better smoother graphics). But at the same time the game didn’t go full 3D and retains the 2D look just like in the original, with a view from the side or back. Other stages appear to be exactly the same as in the original “Sonic the Hedgehog” except that they have been re-worked and enhanced.
There is no need to mention about the gameplay because everyone already knows about Sonic series of games. The only thing that you have to focus is on the speed – you have go through all the obstacles while collecting emeralds.
The requirements for running “Sonic Mania” on your PC are very minimal. Your PC has to have a dual core processor with 2 GB RAM. However the game does not support Windows 7 and you should be running Windows 8 or Windows 10. For login, you also need Epic Games account credentials.
