Has it ever happened to you that you found an important image on a website but it is not in the proper orientation? You want to rotate it left or right, but since you are viewing it in a web browser and not in an image viewer, you cannot really do anything. The only way to rotate that image is to first download it to your computer and then rotate it using an image viewer like XNView or Irfan View.
But with the help of the Zoom Image extension for Firefox web browser, you do not have to download the image to your computer. When the Zoom Image extension is installed in Firefox, you can rotate, resize or zoom the images right on the websites. This makes it very convenient for the users to properly view the images in their right orientations or sizes.
After Zoom Image has been installed, you can simply right-click on any image on any website and you will see the ZoomImage right-click context-menu. From its sub-menu, you can choose to zoom it up twice the original size, zoom it down half the original size, rotate it 90 degrees to the left, rotate it 90 degrees to the right, rotate it 180 degrees, fit the image to the window and return the image back to its original size/orientation.
But you do not have to use the context-menu for these operations since Zoom Image associates actions with various keyboard and mouse actions. For example, in order to rotate the image you can press Alt key on your keyboard, right-click on an image and then rotate the mouse wheel. All of these actions can be found in the Zoom Image settings.
In the settings for the Zoom Image extension, you can choose the mouse commands to be used for various actions such as floating zoom, zoom, rotation, original size, normal size, fit to window, drag to move and more. You can also control how much zoom you get when you rotate the mouse wheel in a single step (default is 10%) or how many degrees it will rotate the image when you rotate the mouse wheel one step (default is 15 degrees).
