Lazesoft Recovery My Password : Resets Windows Password

When we buy a new Windows computer, there are many things that we can do with the old Windows computers. We can turn them into Linux boxes, we can turn them into servers of some sort, we can donate them, we can sell them on eBay, or we can store them in the attic.

There are two steps involved in using Lazesoft Recovery My Password. In the first step, we create a bootable media and in the second step, we boot the PC using this media to reset the password.

Step 1. Create Lazesoft Recovery My Password bootable CD/USB

1. Download and install Lazesoft Recovery My Password on your PC from https://www.lazesoft.com/lazesoft-recover-my-password.html.
2. Launch Lazesoft Recovery My Password using its shortcut on the desktop. Choose the target Windows version (the version installed on the PC for which the password is to be reset) to proceed.
3. You can use a blank CD or a USB pendrive as the boot media. You can also save the ISO image to your computer. Many of us will choose the USB pendrive as it is much more convenient.

Step 2. Boot using this media and reset Windows password

1. Boot using the bootable CD/pendrive created in the Step 1. Typically this involves inserting the bootable USB pendrive into one of the USB ports of your PC, pressing the power button, holding the F12 key until you see the boot menu. From this boot menu, you should pick the USB pendrive. Booting this way will lead to a boot screen. From the boot screen choose Lazesoft Live CD.
2. From the window of Lazesoft Recovery My Password, select Reset password and click Next.
3. Choose the Windows version and the system partition. Then select Reset Local Password and click Next.
4. You will see a list of all the user accounts discovered on this partition. Select one of the user accounts which needs password reset.
5. You can click on the Reset/Unlock button to change the selected account’s password to blank and unlock the account if it has been locked.
