The word “watermark” was originally used for papers. During the paper making process, certain mark, text, or logo was impressed upon the paper. This mark was invisible normally but became visible only when the paper was held to a bright source of light. Such watermarks are commonly used on bond papers and currency notes.
In the digital world, a similar concept exists when we add a visible or semi-visible mark to an image or a video. For watermarking an image, we can use any image editor or specialized watermarking software. Similarly, for adding watermarks to videos, we can use software like “Watermark Video for PC”.
In this small application, we can add both the image and text type of watermarks. It uses the popular FFmpeg media manipulation tool to add these watermarks. It is available both as a portable application and as an installable software.
In the user interface, we can begin by adding the video files to the list. We can also add an entire folder containing the video files. After this, we can choose whether to add the text watermark or the image watermark. We can choose to add both the text and the image based watermarks.
In the case of the text watermark, we can choose the text string, the font, and the font size. In the case of the image watermark, we can choose the image file to be used as the watermark. We can choose image files of many different types like PNG, JPEG, BMP, GIF etc. If you want transparency in the watermark, then you can use the PNG image files with transparency.
For the both types of watermarks, we can choose the position from top-left, top-right, bottom-left, bottom-right etc. We can choose the output video type from MP4, MKV, FLV, MOV, AVI, MPEG, WMV, and F4V. We can choose the encoder type from OpenH264 or MP4.
Finally, we can click on the “Start” button to begin the processing of the videos. Depending on your PC hardware, it might take a short or long time for the processing of the files. Unfortunately, this software does not show any preview of the watermarks before the actual processing.
