If you keep forgetting your passwords to various web services, then you can use the online password management utility from LastPass. You can access LastPass without any plugin but full access to LastPass features requires installing a plugin. The LastPass installer tool installs a plugin in most of your browsers and using which you can store and retrieve your passwords. LastPass plugin supports most of the browsers like Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera, Chrome, Safari and Avant. Here is how :
- Download the installer from https://lastpass.com/lastpass.exe.
- Install the LastPass plugin by running the setup lastpass.exe.
- After the setup is finished, you wil be asked to create a new account. Enter the required information and create a new account as shown :
- After going through more screens and restarting the browser, you will be ready to use the LastPass.
Now when you login to a web site (like YouTube), LastPass would ask if you want to store the password in your LastPass account as shown :
Just click on Save Site to save the login information. A pop-up window would be shown to choose a group and other options
Next time, you visit that website, you do not have to supply the password if you are logged in to your LastPass account. You can also have a look at all the stored login credentials by typing chrome://lastpass/content/home.xul in your web browser.
