Windows 7 has a sidebar feature which contains gadgets. You can add or install more gadgets to this sidebar. If you do not like a gadget you can remove that gadget as explained in this article.
- If your Windows Sidebar is not running you can run it from by right clicking on the Desktop and selecting Gadgets. This would open a Gadets gallery window and start the sidebar. You can close the gallery window. You can also run the Windows Sidebar, by pressing Windows Key + R, typing sidebar.exe and pressing Enter.
- Hover your mouse cursor over any gadget in the sidebar which you want to remove. You would see options for the gadget appear on the top-right of the gadget.
- Click on the cross on the top of the options to remove the gadget
This way you can remove any gadgets that you do not want to appear in the Windows Sidebar. If later you decide to add them to the Windows Sidebar, you can easily add them from the gadgets gallery.
