Set default web browser from within Apple Safari

Your default web browser opens the HTML files on your hard disk. It also opens web sites when you click on a web site link in any application like Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird. Unlike any other browser, Apple Safari lets you choose any installed browser to be your default web browser. Here is how you can set your default browser using Apple Safari :

  1. Run Apple Safari. On the top-right side, you would see a settings gears like icon. Click on it and select Options as shown

  2. In the Preferences window, select the General tab if not already selected.
  3. From the drop down list labeled Default web browser you can select any installed browser to be your default web browser.

  4. Close the Preferences window.
