Security Center in Windows checks if your Windows Vista is being automatically updated, has an updated firewall, anti-spyware and anti-virus. But if you are sure that your computer is being updated regularly and has an up-to-date protection, then you may want to disable the security center. Here is how :
- Open Control Panel from Start Menu.
- In the Control Panel, navigate to Control Panel → Security → Security Center
- In the Windows Security Center window, click on the Change the way Security Center alerts me link on the left side menu,
- Choose Don’t notify me and don’t display the icon as shown,
Now you will not see any popups from the Security Center anymore. But if you disable the Security Center service, then you would see Security Center error icon in the system tray. So it is required that the Security Center service stay running.
