In Windows XP, when you start the Windows Explorer from its Start Menu shortcut, it always starts in the My Documents folder. If you want to open it in a special folder of your choice, then you will have to change few settings in the shortcut properties. Here is how :
- Right-click on the Windows Explorer shortcut located in Start Menu → All Programs → Accessaries → Windows Explorer
- From the right-click menu, select Properties as shown,
- In the shortcut properties window, change the target field to :
%SystemRoot%explorer.exe /n, /e, C:Games
- Click OK to save the settings. Now when you open Windows Explorer by choosing the shortcut from the Start Menu, it would open in a folder of your choice.
Of course, change the C:Games in the end to the full path of any folder you want to be opened.
