How the text is shown on a web page depends on how the browser renders the font. In the Safari browser, you can choose how to smooth the fonts. You can choose standard font smoothing or one of the ways optimized for CRT or LCD monitors. This is how :
- Run Apple Safari. On the top-right side, you would see a settings gears like icon. Click on it and select Preferences as shown
Alternatively, you can press the keyboard combination Ctrl + , to open the Preferences window.
- In the Preferences window, select the Appearance tab.
- From the drop-down listbox labeled Font smoothing choose a method for font smoothing as shown,
You can choose from Standard, CRT, Light, Medium and Strong. If you have an older CRT monitor, then choose CRT method. If you have newer flat LCD monitor, then you can choose Medium. If you are unsure what to choose, then leave it as Standard.
- Close the Preferences window.
