You can add one or more add-ons in the Mozilla Firefox browser to modify or enhance the capabilities of this browser. Mozilla Firefox checks for updates of the installed add-ons once everyday by default. But if you think this is too often, you can extend the update checking interval. For example, you can make Firefox check for add-on updates every week. Here is how :
- Type about:config in the Firefox browser’s location bar.
- Click on the I’ll be careful, I promise! button to continue.
- Find extensions.update.interval. The default value of this setting would be 86400 which is the number of seconds in a day. Double-click on it and change this value to any number of seconds you want. For example, for one week – you can set it to 604800. Do not set it to a number lower than 86400.
- Restart the Firefox browser for the changes to take effect.
