Windows 7 shows transparency in windows, taskbar and menubars. This makes your desktop look better and is definitely a eye candy. But if you do not care much about how windows looks then you can disable transparency and make windows opaque – this would save you some CPU power and make Windows work a little faster. Here is how you can disable or enable windows transparency in Windows 7 :
- Right click anywhere on your desktop and choose Personalize.
- Click on the Window Color at the bottom in the Personalization window.
- un-check the checkbox labeled Enable Transparency to disable transparency and make windows look opaque.
- Click on Save changes to save settings and make changes take effect. If later you decide to enable transparency, then check the checkbox labeled Enable Transparency in step 2 above.
