By connecting your printer with the Google Cloud service you will be able to print using your printer from any computer or smart phone, regardless of where you are in this world. Some modern printers like HP’s ePrint printers can be connected to the cloud automatically. But if you have a classic printer, you can still connect it to Google Cloud using Google Chrome web browser. This way your classic printer will become automatically available to you from Google Cloud Print enabled web and mobile applications.
You can follow these steps to enable Google CLoudPrint in the Google Chrome web browser :
- Open the Google Chrome browser, type chrome://settings/advanced in the omnibar (location bar) and press Enter. This would open the advanced settings page in Google Chrome.
- Scroll down the list of options and click on the button Sign in to Google CloudPrint as shown.
- You will be asked to sign in with your Google account. Type in your Google username and password and click Sign In button to proceed.
- You will be shown a success dialog saying that the Google CloudPrint service has been enabled on this computer. You can print a test page if you want to check if the service is working but it is not necessary.
Now you can print to the printers available on this computer using Gmail for mobile, Google Docs for mobile etc. Google is working hard to make this cloud printing it available to many more services.
