We earlier posted an article on how you can display the full and complete web site address in the Firefox web browser through its configurations. Similar to Firefox latest versions of the Opera browser also hide some parts of the displayed site address like http:// etc. If you are an Opera browser user, then you do not have to dig down into browser configurations to make it show the full web address in the location bar. In Opera you can just open the settings window and toggle on or off this feature easily. Here is how :
- Open your Opera browser. Click on the top-left Opera button and select Settings → Preferences to open the Preferences window. Alternatively, you can also press the keyboard combination Ctrl + F12.
- In the Preferences window, select the Advanced tab on top, select the Browsing section on the left. Then check the checkbox labeled Show full web address in the address field as shown.
- Click on the OK button to save the settings. Opera now starts showing the full web site addresses for all the sites opened in all the tabs.
Although the hiding some parts of the web site address is for the benefit of the common user (they do not have to worry about http:// part anymore). But it may not be to the taste of the advanced users. Opera has made it easy for all users to decide for themselves and toggle this feature on and off.
