It happens to all of us, when we are watching a video on youtube, something important comes up and we have to close the youtube video. Later when we come back to our computer, we forget about which video we were watching or how much of the video we have watched already. If you do not want to end up watching a video over and over again, then you can use the Pause for Later browser extension.
Pause for Later browser extension allows you to pause any video on youtube, vimeo and many other video sites in the middle so that you can resume it later at any comfortable time. This extension is available for the Firefox and the Chrome browsers, while a bookmarklet is available for others. Using of this extension requires you to create a free Pause for Later account so that your paused videos would be stored to your own account.
After the installation, you would see a pink colored pause button in the toolbar of your Chrome browser (in Firefox it would be visible in the add-on bar). While you are watching a video in your browser and you want to pause it for watching it later, then all you have to do is click on the Pause button.
This would take you to the Pause for Later webpage. If you have not already created a free Pause for Later account, then you can create one. If you have not logged on to your account, then you can log on here. If you are logged on to your Pause for Later account, then it would add your video and the time where you paused it to your account. It would show a thumbnail of the video, basic description, when it was paused, and an Action button.
To play a video from your Pause for Later list, click on the Action button next to that video and choose Watch Now. The same Action button can be used to watch it from the beginning rather than from the paused location, copy short link, copy full link, make it public or delete it from your Pause for Later account.
So if you often find yourself watching a video from the beginning all over again, then you need to install the Pause for Later extension. This extension is available for almost all the web browsers including Google Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Apple Safari, Opera and more. There is an app available for iPhone and Android phones as well.
