Windows 8 allows you to create picture password for your account, which is nothing but a set of gestures made over a picture. You have to make the same set of gestures in the same order to login to Windows. But if you have forgotten your picture password, or just do not want to use the picture password any longer than you can remove it from your account. You can follow these instructions to remove the picture password for your user account:
- Press the key combination Windows logo key + I to display the Charms bar in the right side of your screen. In the charms bar, click/tap on Change PC Settings which is displayed at the very bottom of the charms bar.
- In the PC Settings screen that opens up, select Users on the left side. Then click/tap on the Remove button shown next to the Change picture password, on the right side under the Sign-in options.
- Windows may ask you for your text password and then your picture password would be removed without any confirmation. Now when you sign-in to Windows, you will no longer have the option to sign-in using the picture password.
