We all have some important files that we do not want to lose. The simplest way to keep them safe from accidental loss is creating a backup of those files. Although these days there are advanced backup tools available which feature encryption, cloud backup, online backup, differential backup, compressed backup and much more, sometimes you need a very simple tool that can just copy the files from one folder to another at pre-specified times without requiring any complicated configuration. The freeware Everyday Easy Backup provides you with just that. It is a simple backup tool for Windows that schedules copying of files from a source folder to a destination folder and automatically executes those tasks when time comes.
You can get this backup tool from the website of LionMax software. The download is a setup file using which you can install it in Windows. It supports all Windows versions starting from Windows 95 to Windows 8. After the installation you can launch it from the Start Menu or desktop shortcuts.
Like everything in this application, the user interface is also very simple and easy to follow. You can click on the Add button in the toolbar to add a new backup task. This would open the Add new project window where you can enter the new project name, source directory, destination directory, schedule and overwrite options. Click on the Save button and you are done.
Now you can forget about the backup, Everyday Easy Backup will automatically launch the scheduled backup when it hits the clock. It will automatically start the backup task in the background without manual intervention. This can be used in multiple ways, for example, to backup your files regularly, for backing up files to any cloud backup service like Dropbox (by regularly backing up files to the Dropbox folder) etc.
In the options, you can choose the options for auto-starting this program with Windows, play a sound when a backup task is finished, enable tray balloon notification, choose files that you want to ignore during the backup etc.
Everyday Easy Backup is the simplest backup solution I have seen. It works on all the versions of Windows which makes it ideal to use on older computers. Using it does not require any special skills, all you have to do is select source and destination folders and set the schedule. It would have been great if also had encryption and file compression components.
