How to Block an Annoying Person on Google Allo

Google Allo is a new instant messaging app from the technology giant Google. It offers so many new features that no other instant messaging app for Android or iOS offers at the moment. For example, it offers a new virtual helper assistant which is similar to Microsoft’s Cortana or Apple’s Siri. It comes with many features for the security conscious people like the incognito mode which is not much different from the incognito mode of the Google Chrome browser. In this incognito mode, all of your chat history and the private notifications are erased as soon as the chatting session is over. In addition, it also offers end-to-end encryption to prevent anyone from eavesdropping on your private conversations.

Google Allo also offers a great feature that can help you block an annoying person who you want to avoid at all costs. Using this feature you can simply block a person on Allo. Here is how:

  1. Tap on the person that you want to block in the Google Allo app.
  2. It will show you the chat history for that person. Tap on the user icon for that person displayed near the top-right corner.Blocking Someone in Google Allo
  3. A menu will be displayed. Select Chat details from this menu.
  4. It will display you the settings for that person where you can mute or block them. Tap on the big red Block button to block that person.Blocking Someone in Google Allo

After you have blocked a person in Google Allo, you won’t be able to engage in one-on-one conversation with them. Similarly, you won’t be able to create group chat sessions with that blocked person. But if you both join a group chat session initiated by someone else, then you both will be able to see each other and you will also be able to see their chats in such a group chat session.
