How to Change the Background and Theme in Office 2016

Microsoft Office is used by people who have to laboriously type and edit various types of documents all day long. It is only natural that they should be able to customize how the Office applications appear and be able to change the look and feel of all the Office programs. In the newest version of Office, Office 2016 it is possible through the Office Themes. You can switch from one theme to another in order to make the Office programs look a little different. These themes work in the same way Windows desktop themes work – they define various color schemes that are applied in Microsoft Office.

In office 2016, you can choose from various themes like the Colorful theme, Black theme, Dark Gray theme, and White theme. Here is how:

  1. Open any Office application, for example, open Microsoft Word.
  2. Click on the File in the top-left corner of the window and then select Account from the menu that appears on your screen.Office 2016 Themes
  3. On the right-side, you can choose an Office background as well as an Office theme. By default, there is no Office background selected and the theme is set to Colorful. The changes are reflected instantly.

One other way to change the themes is via the Office options. In this case, you will have to click on File and then choose Options. In the options screen, select General and then you would be able to find the options to change the Office background as well as the Office themes.

Changing the themes obviously does not affect how the Microsoft Office applications function or how they save the documents. But it gives your computer an aesthetic appeal that keeps working with Office everyday from reaching the brinks of utter boredom. It would have been nicer of they had given options to load custom themes too.
