OnTrack EasyRecovery : Recover Deleted Files in Windows

Accidentally deleting files can result in hypertension and headache of the highest order that even the strongest of the medical pills cannot take care of. But you can always attempt to recover your lost data yourself using a tool like EasyRecovery for Windows. This is a new software designed by Kroll OnTrack and is available in many different editions – free version, home, professional, and technician. The free version is limited by the total amount of data that can be recovered – it can recover a maximum of 1 GB data in total.

The interface of the EasyRecovery is very easy to understand – perhaps this is why it is being promoted as DIY data recovery software – something that everyone and anyone can do by themselves without needing any help from professionals. But one thing you should never do – never install data recovery software on the same partition or volume from which you wish to recover deleted files as doing so will overwrite the deleted files’ data.

EasyRecovery

In the start screen of EasyRecovery, you can pick the type of files you wish to recover – all files, pictures,  video files, audio files, office files, folders,  email messages etc. On the next screen, you have to pick a folder, partition or volume (drive) from which you wish to recover the files. After this, it will perform a four phase scan of your drive which is going to take a long time. And you cannot cancel the scan of the first phase.

After the scanning is finished, you will be shown a list of all the files that you can preview and recover. In the free edition, the EasyRecovery software cannot recover more than 1 GB of data in total. So make sure that you recover relatively more important files first. If you want to reover more than 1 GB of data, you can buy license from Kroll OnTrack software.
