Record Audio Streams in Windows with Any Audio Record

Windows comes with a standard sound recorder app that can record audio from your microphone. But it is a very simple app and saves files only in the WMA audio file format. If you want more control on the sources of the audio streams that you can select, the quality of the audio file and the file format of the audio recording then you can try the Any Audio Record file.

Any Audio Record is developed by Soft4Boost and using this software you can record the entire audio stream of your sound card which means you can record not only the line-in, but also line-out and the sound-mix. This also means that using this software you will be able to store including Skype phone calls and save them directly as MP3 or AAC files.

Any Audio Record

In the Any Audio Record window, you can select the audio device from the drop- down list. Each device has multiple audio streams, you can select one of the audio streams from the second drop-down list. After this, you have to choose one of the audio file formats that you want to save the stream as – there are many formats that you can pick like MP3, AAC, WAV, M4A, WMA etc. You can also choose whether you want to record the audio in the stereo format or the mono format. Sample rate and bitrate can also be manually picked, but it is not necessary.

On the next screen, you can choose the folder path where the audio file is to be stored, change the audio gain if required, and more. You can see the visual display of the audio stream as it is being recorded. When the recording is done, you can try playing it in your default media player.
