Vitomu : Extract Audio Stream from Video Files

Vitomu is a very easy-to-use program for Windows that can help you extract the audio stream from all kinds of video files. The audio stream can be saved in form of many popular audio file formats like MP3, M4A, OGG, FLAC etc. This is useful when you have a video file for a music video and you want to extract the audio from that file so that you can enjoy listening to that track on your mobile devices.

Vitomu is available for Windows only. It can both be installed in your PC or you can download the portable version that does not require any installation. It uses the popular open-source FFmpeg toolkit for manipulating media files. The Vitomu package comes with FFmpeg files along with it.

Vitomu offers a very convenient drag-n-drop interface. After launching Vitomu, you can drag-n-drop the video file on top of the big camera graphic in the window and it will go to work right away. After only a few seconds the message is displayed that the conversion was successful. The output file name is also displayed in the window. You can click on the folder icon to open the folder where this audio file has been placed. You can also click on the small play button to start playing the audio file in your system’s default media player.

In the settings for Vitomu, you can choose the outfile audio file type from AAC, MP3, M4A, OGG and FLAC. You can also choose the bitrate for the audio file from the settings. A good bitrate is 320 kbps that gives a great output. But if you choose a higher bitrate then the file size of the audio file will grow larger. There are no options to choose VBR that produces much high quality audio files. You cannot choose the destination for the audio files, but they are placed inside the user profile music folder.
